Goals for 2013

As January of 2013 comes to a close, think about all the things God has done for you in 2012, and don't forget to praise Him in the good times and the tough times. Write down your goals for the year and how you are going to work towards those goals. Take them to God in prayer and make sure they are in His will for you to have. The Lord does not always answer right away with a big booming yes, but walk in faith and know that it will come in due season :)

YOU ARE Destined For Promotion

Just got finished reading a book by Pastor Sir Walter Mack Jr. entitled, Destined for Promotion. As Christians, we ought to know and believe this to be true because the Lord tells us this in Jeremiah 29: 11, "For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you, and not harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future." Pastor Mack Jr.'s book starts out informing us that all of us are in line for a "promotion" from God, and that all of us are always constantly seeking for God to reveal Himself to us in new ways. However, in order for us to receive the promotion, our desires must line up with God's desires. Pastor Mack goes on further to say that as there are forecasting tools to predetermine the weather, there are also signs that Christians can look out for to help reveal to us that a promotion is on the way. Now understand that a promotion can come in a variety of ways...it can come financially obviously, but also spiritually and emotionally, and sometimes it can come in a way of us losing something or someone and feeling like we are actually making a step back.
Some of the chapters that stood out for me were, You Are Destined For Promotion When: God Begins to Do New Things in You, When Your Character is Corrected, and When You Learn How to Handle Betrayal and Rejection. What, you thought I was going to clue you in on ALL the chapter topics? Well, you'll have to read it for yourself, but I want you to know that God wants to bless us, but sometimes our habits (we are unwilling to let go) and lifestyles get in the way. We must praise him in advance and also learn to worship Him because of who he is! Depression is real and it's a target the enemy often uses to make us feel defeated, useless, and sometimes even guilty. Seeking God's face and his help are the only ways to seek deliverance from our own selves and demonic spirits such as depression.
If these truths still don't encourage you to believe that you are destined for promotion, the Lord tells us in Philippians 4:19 "And my God will meet ALL of your needs according to His riches in glory in Jesus Christ." My next step is to revisit the book "A Purpose-Driven Life." I read the entire book when I was about in jr high school, and it inspired me and humbled me sprit then for Kingdom building, so as a college student, I would like to find out the new revelations God allows me to have now! I highly encourage reading Christian help books written by people of God, for people of God (if the Lord touches you to read them)...now this does not substitute for reading the Holy Bible itself, but as a babe in Christ, I find that these books often help me to apply scriptures and help me to keep things in perspective as I try to live in God's perfect plan for me, while still having to survive in the secular world. If you feel moved, I welcome you to share at the bottom of this post ways in which you feel God is revealing to you that you are about to walk into a promotion, or a time in which you look back upon and realize that God was preparing you for a promotion. God bless you!

Have you Ever?

Have you ever made a HUGE mistake in your life and thought you could never be forgiven for it? Have you ever made a mistake that could have potentially ruined your life, but God's grace saved you from a terrible fate? If so, please share...

When God does these things in our life, it's nothing to hide or be ashamed of, of course our sin is nothing to boast about but when he delivers us we ought to share the news, so that someone else's life might be changed!

ALMOST (Saved) by Ezekiel Azonwu

Very anointed young man...honestly some of the finest and BEST spoken word I've ever heard. Speaks to the same topic as the previous post. How can we as Christians avoid being lukewarm and only going through the motions of Church but being on FIRE for Christ and living for the best of these which is LOVE, and the Great Commission to go into all nations and preach to gospel?!

Christian Comedy: Church Folks by Emmanuel & Philip Hudson

These two young men are the prime examples of two people with a vision and a dream, who took their vision and dream to Youtube and now have a following of millions of people and counting. This video is absolutely hilarious, but sheds light on truth that lukewarm Christians lead. Are you a lukewarm Christian? Revelation 3:16 Hope you appreciate the truth in humour, do not take it personal.

Keep Your Eyes on the Prize

Remember the story of Peter walking on the water towards Jesus in the book of Matthew in Chapter 14? Initially, Peter had the faith and bravery to step out onto the water and walk but once he began noticing his surroundings such as the strong winds, he took his eyes off of Jesus and began to sink. Recall a time in your life when you took your eyes off of God, doubted His ability to get you through, or blamed Him for something and lost focus on that fact that 'With God things that are impossible to man, are possible with God (Matthew 19:26)." Please share your experience in the comment box below and suggest ways in which we can keep the faith even in seemingly bad situations.
